Art lessons

Whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or want to build on your existing skills, art lessons let you explore creativity, learn new techniques, and grow as an artist. I offer individualized instruction for all ages and experience levels, with opportunities to experiment with a variety of art materials. Lessons are tailored to each person's interests and goals, with an emphasis on the joy of making art!

Art lessons are $55.00/hour. I work with individuals, one-on-one only.

Portfolio Preparation

Preparing for a specialized program or competitive arts audition can feel overwhelming. I work with students of all ages to develop well-rounded art portfolios that showcase their individual strengths. From creating and refining artwork to selecting pieces and organizing a polished final portfolio, I provide guidance throughout the entire process. I also support students and parents with the application process, including completing paperwork, gathering references, and preparing for auditions or interviews. My goal is to help students feel confident, prepared, and proud of the work they present.

Portfolio Preparation is $68.00/hour.

Community Workshops

Looking to bring a creative experience to your workplace, organization, or community space? I offer custom art workshops and private art events. I'll design a hands-on art experience tailored to your group's interests and goals. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all paint parties, I take a more exploratory approach to art-making. I select the materials and creative processes to best suit your event. You provide the space and the people; I'll bring the materials, instruction, and creative experience!

Pricing is customized based on the needs of each event and may vary depending on group size, workshop duration, selected art materials and media, project complexity, and location. Please reach out with a little information about your event, and I'll be happy to put together a customized quote.

Art lessons are educational, while art therapy is a confidential therapeutic service.

Not sure which service is the right fit? I'm happy to schedule a complimentary 15-minute phone conversation to learn a little about what you're looking for, answer questions, and help determine which service may best meet your needs.

About Art Education Services

Although art education and art therapy both involve creativity and art making, they serve different purposes and are offered as separate services.

I hold a Master of Arts in Art Education and have more than a decade of experience teaching art in a variety of settings, including Fayette County elementary schools and the University of Kentucky, where I have served as an adjunct instructor teaching students from a wide range of academic disciplines.

Separately, I am a Licensed Professional Art Therapist Associate (LPAT-A). Art therapy is a clinical service that uses the creative process within a therapeutic relationship to support emotional well-being, self-awareness, personal growth, and mental health needs. Because art therapy involves clinical care, it requires a separate intake process, informed consent, and a formal service agreement. Therapeutic services also follow professional ethical standards regarding confidentiality, documentation, and client privacy.
